22 ounce bottle into snifter, bottled in 7/2017. Pours opaque pitch black color with a 1 finger fairly dense and fluffy tan head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, cinnamon, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, molasses, bourbon, toasted oak, roasted nuts, biscuit, and dark bread/crust; with light notes of coconut, licorice, raisin, fig, date, smoke, oak char, leather, tobacco, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast/roast/toast/oaky earthiness. Minimal booze in the aromas as it warms. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malts, bourbon/cinnamon barrels, and light earthy hops/fruity yeast notes; with big strength. Taste of huge milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, cinnamon, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, molasses, bourbon, toasted oak, roasted nuts, biscuit, and dark bread/crust; with light notes of coconut, licorice, raisin, fig, date, smoke, oak char, leather, tobacco, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast/roast/toast/oaky earthiness. Mild herbal, grassy, peppery, roast, charred bitterness; and cinnamon/bourbon/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, cinnamon, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, molasses, bourbon, toasted oak, roasted nuts, biscuit, dark bread/crust, coconut, licorice, dark fruit, smoke, oak char, leather, tobacco, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast/roast/toast/oaky earthiness on the finish for a while. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, bourbon/cinnamon barrels, and light earthy hops/fruity yeast flavors; with a fantastic roasted bitter/sweet and cinnamon/bourbon/oak spiciness balance; with no cloying/acrid/astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitter/spiciness. Light-medium carbonation and fairly full body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/velvety/bready, and lightly slick/sticky/chalky/tannic mouthfeel that is fantastic. Minimal warming alcohol for 12%, with zero lingering barrel booze after the finish. Overall this is a fantastic barrel aged imperial stout. All around fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, bourbon/cinnamon barrels, and light earthy hops/fruity yeast flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to sip on for the huge ABV, with the mildly bitter/spicy/tannic/drying finish; fantastic soft/silky feel for the ABV. Perfectly balanced super rich malts and bourbon/cinnamon barrel presence/integration; mild earthy hops and fruity yeast. Not overly sweet/heavy from lingering dryness. A highly enjoyable offering, and outstadning style example as expected. Aged extremely well.

Chocolate, cinnamon, bourbon, vanilla, some coconut from the barrel. Quite well-balanced, though a bit thin. 4.3
