So, what’s the story behind it?
Legend has it that an American guy named Christopher Sholes designed this layout to slow people down on typewriters — because the old setup made the metal arms jam all the time. Nobody’s really sure if that was his true motive, but hey, no one’s complaining about the layout anymore, are they?
