A beautiful, deep copper brown ale. It has a full, malty body with hints of chocolate, a touch of sweetness and a light hop flavor. A complex malt character is created by combining five different types of malts. It has a rich, creamy head with a fine lace. The light fruitiness, characteristic of ales, is derived from a proprietary yeast strain.
Saint Arnold Ale Wagger Brown is best consumed at 45-50° Fahrenheit.
Recommended pairings: Pecan crusted snapper & venison.

Bottled. mild head. Smell is caramelish. Some hops spice malts to taste and finish. Hops are light.

Draught Huge, very dense creamy head over chestnut coloured beer. Cream nose, lactic, bit leafy. Fruity hosp, but smelling sweet. Sweetish, leafy flavour, finish is markably drier, going towards astringency, nearly. Sweet - too sweet for my taste. Other opinion mentioned oxidation.

From tap. Fast klare dunkel orangebraune Farbe, ordentliche beige Schaumkrone. Geruch nach reifen Früchten, Karamell, nussig, hopfig. Geschmack nussig hopfig, leicht röstmalzig, fruchtig.

Tap at Camba in Munich. Nose of dirty, earthy hops and caramel malt. Light body, good balance. Comes across a bit like a hoppy and dark Franconian landbier, though not a great one.

Tap at tap-house Munich. Medium light ok chewy mellow caramel malt , light nuts and a good hop profile, really not bad. Needs a bit more body for my liking.

Draft as Brown Ale. Brown color (duh), white coca cola head. Aroma of malted milk balls. Taste is watery chocolate.

Bottle - Toffee, grains and light chocolate. Clear amber with a thin head. Caramel sweetness with a touch of toasted malts and nuts. Pretty average, I like mine with a bit more malt.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear deep orange amber with a gray head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has notes of grain and bread with a bit of backing toffee. Flavor is similar with lots of malts, mainly bread and toffee, a hint of earthiness present.

Courtesy of markwise. Pours amber with gold hues and off white head. The aroma is sweet with malts and some caramel malts to go along with a bit of roasted malts too. The taste is similar with caramel malts, a dash of molasses and then heading into roasted malts. The flavors do not really come together all that well.

Received in trade from TexIndy, thanks for the opportunity. Pours a clear dark amber, almost brown with a thin white head that is stingy. Aroma is of chocolate malts, and some citrusy hops. Smell is really balanced between hops and malts. Taste shows more malt than hops with some cocoa and some caramel with a orangey, grapefruity hop bite towards the end. Mouthfeel is creamy/oily body is medium to thin. Decent session brew, looks a bit light for a brown ale, but drinks great.
