Can from Tavour. Pours very dark brn/blk with a large creamy dark tan head. Aroma of chocolate, anise, dark malt and some bourbon notes. Arguably full bodied. Flavor is pretty much the aroma but with some oak astringency. There's very little heat. Not dry, but pretty bitter - likely from burnt malt. Anise seems a little strong with time.

16oz can from Tavour. Near black pour, foamy beige head settles to ring, lacing. Roasty malt aroma, bourbon, licorice, brown sugar. Taste is sweet, bourbon barrel up front, molasses, anise, burnt toast. ABV makes a showing in the finish.

(Tap) clear, bright, very dark brown colour with a small brown head; aroma of wet wood, jam, chocolate liqueur; somewhat thick palate; rich, balanced flavour with a long, light bitter finish with a hint of tartness

22 oz. bottle, shared with Stephen. Pours black, with a big, frothy, tan head. The nose is toasted oak, butter toffee, pecans, vanilla, dark chocolate, and some talc. Sweet and malty, with a mild bitterness. This is a sharp and complex stout. Good barrel character, without being overwhelming.

Bottle shard at Lucky Bamboo share. Pours a deep brown to black with a small bit of head. Raisin, bourbon, oak and vanilla aromas with dark roasted malt, cacao nib and tobacco as it warms up. Lots of big flavors on the nose. A little thin body-wise on the palate. More raisin and bourbon, oak and roasted cacao nib. Dark chocolate and bourbon on the finish, but finishes a bit quick.

Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured black and oily with a medium sized fluffy dark brown head that lingered and left great lacing. The aroma was malty and boozy with red wine, cocoa and marshmallow. The flavor was strong cocoa, quite boozy - but in a way that worked, and had notes of black licorice, coffee, red wine, toasty malts and marshmallow. Exceptionally long finish. Full bodied and creamy. Outstanding.

This is a bomber from AFH. Thanks man for bringing it. Pick black, some brown edges. a thick bubbly milk chocolate head. The aroma is kind of juicy, It's a bright juicy sweet aroma with cocoa. the flavor, smoke, dark chocolate, not very sweet with a dark fig/prune flavor. i guess the ashiness is from the barrel but I don't get a lot of whiskey or bourbon here. Tasty.

Draft pour at Hop and Hound. What a treat to find on draft! 5 oz of this 14% bomb is plenty for me. Work didn’t suck bad enough to go 14 oz. Not today at least. Jet black pour with a tan cream head. Bourbon and chocolate aroma. Flavor is a thick milk chocolate, smooth flavor that doesn’t get sweet. A bitter flavor as an end result. Somehow this 14% bourbon barrel stout finds away to be a bit refreshing. Smooth flavor, and doesn’t come off nearly as boozy as expected. Love the chocolate note. A slight dough. A slight vanilla. Solid barrel aged stout here.
