Aged in sweet red vermouth barrels for almost a year, this Imperial Rye Brown Ale pours a dark walnut hue, bursting with herbaceous notes of rich toffee and dried fig. A bold sipper, best enjoyed with good company.

12.7 oz bottle. Aroma has notes of pear, raisin, dried apple, chocolate, dark bread, coconut. Pours dark brown with a small beige head that reduces to a collar pretty quickly. Taste is bittersweet with flavors of chocolate, raisin, vermouth, pear, dried apple.

375mL bottle, pour a deep dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma has plenty of sweet vermouth barrels, dark sugars, and some dark dried fruits. Flavour really tastefully brings out the vermouth barrels—with just enough herbal botanical notes—some dark sugars that are well-attenuated and a touch of fruitiness. Quite fruity, gently botanicaly finish. Not my thing at all, but this is admittedly skillfully done.

375mL bottle. Pours dark brown with a beige head. Vermouth botanicals and bready malts on the nose. Flavour has a pretty solid blend of vermouth and brown ale, some of the rye malts coming through, dried fruits, botanicals, some walnuts. The choice of sweet vermouth worked very well here. It is a touch rough and boozy. A risky idea that was well-executed.

Med brown, med head. Herbaceous. The vermouth stands out, soft malts, plummy fruit notes, lots of alcohol.
