Inspired by our head brewer’s cafe con leche-fueled travels in Key West, this is a milk stout with some kick. Local coffee from Dynamite Roasting Co. is cold-extracted and added post fermentation to this sweet, creamy beer.

Bottle. So dark it’s almost black. Very small head but a lot of creamy lace. Aroma is coffee. Taste is coffee if fact it’s too much coffee. It needs a tad more balance.

Pours near black with a tan head. It smells of dark roast malt and coffee. The flavor is big on the same, roast character keeping the malty brew from being too sweet. There’s a creamy, medium body and a roasty finish. Very good

Tap. Pours inky black, merlin beige head, good lacing. Aroma is rich mocha espresso. Flavor is light plus sweet, light plus bitter, creamy. Heavy coffee, but really nice. Fullish body, silky. Good.

Espresso, chocolate malt, and dry hay aroma. Black with nice brown head. Mildly sweet espresso, milk, chocolate malt, and moderately bitter dry hay and coffee grounds flavor. Good body.

Month old can A: Poured a short tan frothy head atop a clear mahogany black body. Short retention and sheet lacing. S: Fresh scent of sweet, creamy coffee with chocolate and dark bread. T: Bitter and very roasty. Strong coffee rules over roasted grains, bitter chocolate and muted berries. Neither sweet nor especially creamy. M: Coating bubble wash, light body and a powdery mouthfeel. O: No lactose noticed which is good. Tastes mostly like strong carbonated coffee. Very good.

The Aromas are roast, dark malt, dark roast coffee, and a little toffee. Flavors are like Nose. Not overly sweet or bitter but carbonation may be a bit aggressive otherwise nice body and drinkable beer. Good finish.

Bottle from Craft Brewed. Pours a deep brown to black with a full 2 fingers of beige head that lingers then dissipates to a ring. Big espresso forward nose w/ cacao nib and light toasted vanilla notes. More coffee on the palate, vanilla bean, cacao & light notes of blueberry. Great low abv coffee stout without being too thin.

Bottle into a heavy glass mug. Big & black, large and in-charge with a tan thin creamy head. Smell is cold coffee, perhaps with a tad of roasty stout nose. First taste is lively co2 on a cold coffee backbone. Plenty of coffee, over the top coffee. Hides the alky fairly well. Coffee, coffee coffee, but its not burnt coffee like so many others. Bitter coffee aftertaste builds in the back of the mouth. Yes, pleasant cutting co2 for a heavier stout. Ends with a big bitter roasted farwood KOFFAY thang. This would be real good if it wasn't for the finish.
