Can at home. Fine dark brown brew. Nose is vanilla and toast. Tastes much the same with brown sugar, nutty , and slight booze. Creamy enough and hint of bitters.

Can thanks to Dave! Pours a clear earthy brown with a tan head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has bread and vanilla with a hint of chocolate and earthiness underlying. Flavor has dark grains with a bit of bread and a nice growing vanilla.

$2.09 can from Vintages on the Dan. Pours murky brown with a small beige head. Aroma is cocoa powder, roasted nuts, light vanilla. Flavor is roasted nuts, caramel malt, light vanilla bean. I don't get any bourbon. Fine but unexceptional.

From drfabulous. Thanks! Pours darkish brown with beige head. Aroma is nutty with a good bit if vanilla... didn't get too much whiskey per se. taste is a bit sweet. Nice vanilla notes. Pretty simple in many ways, but very smooth for the heightened abv. Solid.

Got in a trade with The-Adjunct-Hippie. 12 ounce can into pint glass, canned on 2/6/2018. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy deep ruby red, light copper/brown color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy light khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of caramel, brown sugar, vanilla, toffee, dark fruit, and toasted brown bread; with lighter notes of nuttiness, bourbon, chocolate, herbal, grass, and yeast/toasted earthiness. A bit too fruity/yeasty, but not overwhelming. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/bready/light roast malts, vanilla, and light earthy hop/fruity yeast notes; with solid strength. Taste of caramel, brown sugar, vanilla, toffee, and toasted brown bread; with lighter notes of nuttiness, bourbon, dark fruit, chocolate, herbal, grass, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Very mild herbal/grassy hop and roasted bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of caramel, brown sugar, vanilla, toffee, toasted brown bread, light nuttiness/bourbon/chocolate, herbal, grass, and yeast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready/light roast malts, vanilla, and light earthy hop/fruity yeast flavors; with a nice malt/bitterness balance, and no cloying flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/grainy, fairly crisp, and lightly sticky/chalky mouthfeel that is good. Pretty thin, but not watery feeling. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.3%. Overall this is a very good flavored English brown ale. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready/light roast malts, vanilla, and light earthy hop/fruity yeast flavors; very smooth, crisp, and pretty refreshing to drink for the style with the mildly bitter finish. Flavorful despite the thin body. Well balanced malt complexity with bourbon soaked vanilla; restrained fruity yeast and mild earthy hop balance. A very enjoyable offering, and well made style example.

On tap at Paducah Beer Werks, pours a hazy amber with a small off-white head. Aroma brings out toasted nuts and a hint of caramel. Flavour is light and malty, with toasted caramel, bready notes and a little toffee. Not a lot of depth, with a rather flat body. Decently balanced and drinkable though.
