Bottle. Buttery toffee malt and hay aroma. Amber with large tan head. Sweet toffee malt and hay flavor. Very drinkable - tasty Oktoberfest beer, I could drink a few liters of this.

Clear, bright copper with a creamy tan head. Aroma is breadheel and caramel. Toasty flavor..grain...a little nut. Mild, a little bland, but ok.

This beer is a clear copper-amber color with a medium thin white head that dissipates quickly to a wispy film. Short strings of lacing. Aroma of malt, caramel and hops. Light-bodied with flavors of toasted malt, caramel and mild hops. The finish is sweet with a short malty aftertaste. Pretty much exactly what you would expect a Yuengling Oktoberfest to be. Average overall.

12oz bottle. Fitlered dull copper-orange. Thin off-white head. Sweet, tastes of corn or other adjuncts, in addition to some bland malt. Pretty shabby offering, the corn sweetness doesn’t fit the style at all. Just barely drinkable, certainly cheap and sub-par.

From a twist off bottle. I like most yueng beers so I wanted to try this although I am not a big fan of most fest beers. Looks like octoberfest, iced tea color and all. First taste does have some of that fest attitude but what comes across first is this mild slight wild sour thing. Yes, its there all right. Does have some bitterness to it which builds thru the session. Pretty good sizzle along withthe tartness makes this fest somewhat interesting. A little more mild than most fest beers I’ve tasted. Could probably drink a few of these, not bad overall. I just can’t get used to that weird bitter finish it has which develops after each gulp. Can’t say much about the aroma except that it is there and not unpleasant. Not quite as good as Climax Hoffmann Oktoberfest, Hacker-Pschorr Oktoberfest Märzen, Sprague Farm Spraguer Logger or Schell Octoberfest but does score some points with that tartness in there.

New Beer Distributors, NY 355ml ($2): Pours an amber color with a whitish head. Aroma is caramel malt and metallic lager. Taste is slightly sweet. Slightly watery. Tastes similar to the Traditional Lager, but with perhaps some more malt. That being said, it tastes more or less like an Oktoberfest should be tasting.

Crisp deep copper coloured body with a light brown highlight and a very thing tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, alcohol, caramel, light nuts and a decent amount of earth - but relatively clean scents. Medium-bodied; Assertive toasted malt flavours with a little spices, some stronger alcohol and a rather pungent metallic and earthy kick at the very end. Aftertaste shows some caramelised sugars, some tannic and drying herbal notes and a bit of alcohol. Overall, a decent marzen, but not great - as expected. Nice to see Yueng try something new, but this one isn’t executed that great. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Liqour Outlet in Boonton, New Jersey on 09-September-2012 for US$1.15 sampled at home in Washington on 16-September-2012.
