Den Waldhaus Hopfensturm Edition 1516 haben wir anlässlich des 500. Jahrestages des deutschen Reinheitsgebots speziell für die Bierliebhaber kreiert, die den außergewöhnlichen Biergenuss suchen. „100 % Drinkability” stehen bei dieser Edition allerdings genauso im Vordergrund wie ein ausgeprägtes, nicht alltägliches Geschmackserlebnis. Mit bewusst nur 11,8 Grad Plato Stammwürze, 6 Heißhopfungen, 2 Kalthopfungen (sog. Dry Hopping), der Vergärung mit obergäriger Hefe und einer feinen Filtration ist dieses Craft Bier so vorzüglich wie alle anderen Waldhaus Bierspezialitäten. Es erwartet dich ein angenehm vollmundiges, fruchtig hopfenbetontes Bier, das weder bitter noch mastig schmeckt. Eben ein 100 % Waldhaus Craft Bier!

Bottle 33 cl. What a messy entry - this 2020 edition seems to have no home on Ratebeer, but I'll add it here. Pours a pale yellow with a slight haze and a white head. Distinct and rather sophisticated hop aroma, although far from the new breed dryhopped hazy IPAs. Different but in a good way. Medium body, sweet malty and fruity, with the distinct hop notes througout. Not overly bitter finish though. Interesting. 270820

27-10-19 // botlle. German style Pale Ale? Has a clean Pils character but is topfermented. Clear golden. Fruity nose. Good hoppy aromas. Sweetish grain malty body. Good and easy.

Bottle provided by Maarten - many thanks! Pours clear pale golden with a lasting, thick, frothy, white head. Aroma of banana peel, yellow apple, bread, yeast, wheat, spices. Taste is light fruity sweet, notes of apple & pear over bitter grass, pepper, sourish wheat & biscuity maltiness. Dryish, peppery hoppy finish, falling flat under the yeast. Medium body, slick texture, fizzy carbonation. Refreshing, clean, not much to it.

Bottle from Ambrosetti. Clean gold with a full head. Aroma of grassy malt. Flavour is metallic hop, fruit with a hint of spice.

339 ml bottle. Pours clear golden, medium-sized head. Grass, straw, light pear, slightly metallic, spicy hops, some citric notes. Medium bitterness, some grainy sweetness. Oily to watery texture, light bodied, dry metallic finish, soft carbonated. Hopfensturm? Maybe just a decent Hopfenbrise...

330ml bottle [Thanks to bartlebier for the continuous feed with this edition!]. Clear, orangey, deep golden colour with small to average, thick, fluffy, moderately lasting and lacing, white head. Floral-grassy, minimally citrusy, hoppy aroma with hints of chamomile, lemon, lemongrass and lemon balm sadly dispenses any serious malty support. Taste is slightly bitter, citrusy and minimally grassy hoppy, hints of lemon, lemon drops, lemon balm, minimally sweet, pale malty background. C'mon guys, this is not that bad - vielleicht ein bißchen verkärt "vergährt" and sadly (and for reasons incomprehensible) filtrated, but multidimensional hoppy.

Many thanks to Kevnic2008. Strange moderate bitter sticky beginning. Strange in aroma, not drinkable, bitter dusty. Very strange.

Danke an kevnic2008. Wässrig getreidiger Beginn, bei dem man sich fragt, wofür hier so viele Hopfensorten genutzt wurden wenn doch keine erkennbar ist. Geringe Süße, nur leicht karbonisiert. Spät kommt doch noch eine geringe Hopfigkeit hervor, das Bier bleibt wässrig. 7/5/6/6/9/6

33cl bottle from a trade with kevnic2008, thanks! Pours clear pale golden colour with a mid-sized good lasting white head. Aroma of mild grassy hops, citrus, pale malt. Taste of mild grassy hops, lot of mild citrus, tea, citron, okay!
