Aged for 9 months in grgich hills chardonnay barrels; the rich & complexly malted notes of bread, raisin, tootsie rolls & caramel are amplified by the long barrel-aging, while additional accents of creamy vanilla, toffee & citrus fruit arrive; increasingly redolent of oloroso sherry & white port.

From notes, August 22, 2014. Poured a dark amber color with a little bit of ruby notes to it, with an off-white head. Aroma was sweet malts. Vanilla, toffee, woody barrel notes. Great Barrel. Toffee. Sweet. Very Surprising.

4 oz draft pour at Bluejacket. Dark brown with light tan head. Aromas of huge dark fruit and raisins, caramel, light wine notes. Really nice aroma. Tastes of big dark fruit, subtle wine notes, caramel, toffee, some booze. Medium body with a dry finish.

4oz pour at the brewery pours a hazy caramel brown with some creamy, off white head. Nose has some booze, fortified wine, cleaning fluid, but the woodiness is there, malt, some root veg, mild spice. Flavor is better and rather interesting, sweet, chewy malts, brown sugar, boozy notes, grappa, woody too. Full bodied, slightly hot finish.
