Draft at Sea Dog Brewpub in Conway, NH. Clear light gold color with a small head. Good lacing. Glass is rimmed with cinnamon sugar. Nice pumpkin spice flavor without being over-spiced. Smooth. The cinnamon sugar really sets set the tone for an enjoyable brew.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy orange color with a medium sized creamy orange-white head that left decent lacing. The aroma was sweet with cinnamon sugar, nutmeg and a bit of bread. The flavor was sweet and bready with cinnamon sugar, nutmeg and clove notes. Medium length finish. Medium body. Ok.

Bottle. Clear, deep, gold with no head and slight carbonation. Light and sweet aroma of pumpkin. Full, carrot cake aroma with some cinnamon and artificial pumpkin syrup edge. Strangely drinkable for a ’flavour added’ beer.

Bottle at Zoo Brew. Pours a clear deep gold with a white head that dissipates slowly to the edges and laces. Aroma has notes of sweet grain and sweet pumpkin with a bit of spice. Flavor has lots of sweet grain and heavy spice with a hint of pumpkin.

Reviewed from notes. On tap at Sea Dog in Topsham, ME. In a pint glass, it shows a semi-clear golden yellow colored body with no head and once sipped no lacing whatsoever (no head, I won’t blame the bartender because they’re trying to give me my money’s worth). No carbonation is seen rising (this is interesting?). The aroma = nothing, not even the pumpkin, just plain bland (if water had a smell I guess this would smell like water). The taste had some pumpkin and that’s it, no other Autumn spices, huh?, well ok. On the palate, uh... it was super light (I was able to pound this within three minutes) yet nothing harsh on the tongue. Overall, ok, I wanted this and now I wish I never had it because this was, in my opinion, absolutely awful. As much water as I drank before this, I’m thinking this would have helped me have a clean palate and I think it still didn’t help. Now I don’t know what to think, I drank at least five glasses of water after this just so I could be able to review another beer. Personally, I think this beer needs to be retired or re-worked altogether.

Pours light amber into a shaker. White head quickly recedes to nothing. Nutmeg and pumpkin aromas. Sharp with sour pumpkin from front to back.

Bottle. Smells like pumpkin pie spice. Orange tinged gold color with a white head that barely exists. Near medium body with fizzy carbonation. It has the pie spice, and seems to have pumpkin. It’s dryish, and there is hop. However, the main attraction is the spice, including nutmeg. The finish is spice with some light bitter. Decent enough, and better than many of the style.

Bottle from Trader Joe’s. Yes, we all notice that it’s "with Pumpkin flavor added." Which seems to mean less pumpkin flavor than any beer with pumpkin in the boil or ferment. Attractive light amber color at least, Smell of some indistinct spices. Slightly roasty malts, but the main taste I get is nutmeg and a little cinnamon. No roast pumkpin sweetness or fresh pumpkin veggie taste. Just light spices over an unremarkable ale base.

This beer might be a misnomer. It tasted more like a spiced ale, rather than a pumpkin one because of the pumpkin flavour was seriously lacking. I have had only a few other pumkin ales and this one had the least pumpkin flavour. Overall it is not a bad beer, but not pumpkin enough.
