Set your senses ablaze with Tinder, a smoldering Rauchbier that kindles moderately malty sweetness and robust smokiness. Brewed with Bamberg beechwood-smoked malt, this medium-bodied lager ignites distinct campfire smoke flavors and aroma.

Big bottle - poured brown, decent head. Smoky bacon aromatics. Malty brown lager with smoked taste - an archetypical example of the style and as good or better than anythhing you’ll get in Bamberg.

Bottled.Hazy orangeish golden colour with a creamy small white head, which lasts for quite a while. Aroma is smoked wood, some meaty tones with mild herbs, grass, and sweet maltiness. Flavour is smoked, some sweet malts, mild bread and some strange citrusy tones.

(Bottle) Hazy amber colour with frothy, off-white head, leaving traces of lacing. Malty, smoky nose with smoked ham, rye bread, orange peel, apricots and dried fruit. Malty, slightly smoky taste with notes of crisp-bread, apricots, dried fruit, orange peel, balanced flavours of smoke and a gentle spicy, orangey bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. Many brewers tend to kill their smoked beers with as much smoke as possible, so it was really nice to find this fine example of a tasty, well balanced and harmonious smoked lager. Nice one.

Bottle. Pours a near clear amber with an orange hue and a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a real bacon smoke note with some sweet grains and bread supporting. Flavor has lots of sweet smoke with sweet grains and a touch of caramel.

750 ml corked and caged bottle. Two years old. Didn’t notice that till I got it home, damn. Aroma is strong campfire, smoked ham, some funk, awesomeness. Taste is sweet and smoky, not as promising as the aroma, but still pretty dang good. Mouthfeel is a little too foamy and thin for my tastes. Still, very good overall.

The Beer Store, Southampton, PA bottle: Pours amber with a slightly off-white head. Aroma is smokey meat with nice bit of malt in there. Smells and tastes like a traditional rauchbier. Some minor sweetness. Perhaps a hit of sourness on a big quaff. Nice slightly smokey aftertaste. Not bad.

This was poured into a mug with a light hazy bronzed semi-burnt orange to ruddy brown color with a one finger white to off white foamy head. Thick foamy lacing roams around the glass after the head dissipated.
The smell starts off with a rich sweet to moderately smoked malts. Light meatiness enters in after a bit of warming.
The taste was mainly sweet with an ample amount of smoked malt portion. Meatiness is extremely subdued. But a light crisp breadiness does show some extra flavor and ends up leading slightly into the aftertaste and on into a quick sweet moderately smokey finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a pretty good sessionability about it. Carbonation runs fairly light. Smooth sweet to smokiness runs along my tongue nicely.
Overall, smoked lager or rauchbier (as I have very little experience with rauchbiers), its good for me and I would have it again.
