The only top fermented Belgian pumpkin ale. The award winning brewer, Hans Mehuys, has created a beautifully rich ale - using Kasteel Triple as the base. Color is that of pumpkin - a lovely orange glow. The beer comes in at a warming 8.5% and is spiced with cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves

On Tap at Bitter Creek, Boise Cloudy orange with a full dense off white head. Big sweet caramel pumpkin aromas and flavors. Buttery and smooth and a touch of citrus at the end. Very tasty version of the seasonal style.

Keg at Mellow Mushroom Johnson City. Pours a slightly hazy orange with a thin creamy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of pumpkin, sweet vanilla, spice. The taste is pumpkin, sweet vanilla, butter, spice. Reminds me of Pumking, which is a bad thing,

On tap at Tapwerks. Pours a clear orange with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has notes of creamy pumpkin/sweet potato with some sweet grains and vanilla. Flavor is full of creamy pumpkin with a relatively strong sweet potato with a bit of light spice.

A pumpkin beer from Belgium? How can this be? Are traditional Belgian brewers becoming creative? Good for them. Draft at Black Squirrel courtesy of barman Grant, thank you sir! Clear reddish amber color, flat. Aroma of sweet potato and marshmallow. Taste is extremely sweet, malty, candy.
