Appearance: Deep nutty color with a fine off white head that leaves an ok lacing.
Aroma: Malty, rich smoke and whisky.
Palate: Medium body. Slightly sweet and an ok bitterness. Average carbonation.
Taste: Leather, whisky and smoke.
Overall impression: NOT my cup of ale. Must be heaven for smoked ale lovers.

Flaska från SB. Rubinbrun vätska med lågt skum. Kraftiga dofter av torv och varmrökta charkuterier. Torr, kärv smak av röktorv och en massa ekfat. Både maltkropp och beska övermannas av denna produktplacering från Mackmyra.

Flaska från SB. Mahognyfärgad, klar, lågt skum som snabbt försvinner helt utan att lämna några spår alls. Fina, ganska snälla rökaromer med lätta drag av tjära, lägereld, rökta charkuterier, torv och gammalt läder. Ganska lätt kropp, drickvänlig och beskedlig röksmak. Smakerna funkar fint men eftersmaken är småunken och lite platt. Trevlig och på det hela ett bra rököl, men långt från de tyska förebilderna.

Bottled 330ml. -Pale brown coloured, small to medium off-white head, burnt rubber in the nose. Pretty strong and let’s say not too pleasant. Heavy smoked malt, burnt rubber or even burnt enamel and ash with some mild roasted notes. One-dimensional. Bad batch or complete failure...but something went wrong here for sure.

Bottle. Pours a dark amber color with a small off-white head. Has a strong smoky peaty aroma with hints of caramel. Fruity malty strong smoky caramel flavor. Has a fruity malty smoky finish wit hints of caramel.

Bottled, from Systembolaget. Clear mahogany colour, small head. Distinct peaty smoke aroma. Mid sweet with light-medium body and well rounded mouthfeel. Peat and Finnish tar pastilles. Heavily smokey, but I like the flavour that Mackmyra malt gives to beers. Well made and nicely drinkable, if you can take all the smoke.
