4oz pour at Churchkey DC. Pours an inky black with some thin, white head. Nose of coffee, licorice, malt, molasses, dark chocolate, pumpernickel bread. Flavor is sweet, malty, some black pepper, chocolate cake icing, caramel, toast. Full bodied, sweet finish.

4oz draft at ChurchKey during the SAVOR Surly event. Provided by gendv138, thanks Donnie! Poured a dark black color with a small tan head. Aroma was some roasted notes, chocolate, coffee. Nice and roasty. Caramel character, with some very light spice notes to it - dark chocolate was pleasant.

4 ounces on draft at ChurchKey during the SAVOR Surly event, probably left over from the previous night’s event. Pours black with tan head. Aromas of coffee, roast, light caramel, chocolate. Tasting notes of coffee, roast, light chili peppers, dark chocolate. Medium-full body with a dry finish. Who you gonna call?

From a bottle at the EBF Saturday Decent stout and I probably would have enjoyed it a bit more if I hadn’t had so many other great ones.
