Keg at Maduro at the GTMW pre-party, 8/11/23. Black, large brown head, good retention. Aroma of roast, chocolate, bourbon. Taste is roast, raisin, chocolate, bourbon. Well balanced. Nice.

Tap at Maduro pre GTMW 2014. Odd licorice, anice aroma. Kind of flattish cask body. Chewy woody, bourbon notes. Some vanilla, but more earthy licorice. OK, not something I’d want a full portion of though.

Draft at Smoke & Barrel. Dark maroon color, beige head. Aroma of chocolate > vanilla > brandy. Taste is dry cocoa powder, coffee grounds.

On tap at Ashley’s. Pours black with a creamy brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a decent amount if green apple with a some roasted malts, light bourbon and dark grains. Flavor has same green apple with light bourbon, dark grain and a bit of roast.

On tap at MBGSF 2014. Pours black with a light tan head. Molasses and soy aromas. Flavors of roast cocoa and coffee, raisin, molasses, and some bourbon note. Very good, but not quite as good as the regular version.

6oz pour at Smoke and Barrel. Pours an inky black with some spitty tan head. Smells like nail polish and booze, some cherry, some Kool aid. Flavors of nail polish, raisin, soap, molasses, windex, booze. Base beer is gone. Oily finish.

Draft. Poured a nearly pitch black color with a slightly off-white head. Aroma was notes of dark chocolate, some woody vanilla notes, touch of dark fruits. Flavor was initial notes of wood, after a few sips, light coffee, bourbon, light chocolate. Very drinkable.

4 ounce draft at ChurchKey poured into a tasting snifter. Pours black with tan head and light lacing. Aromas of dark chocolate fudge, dark fruit, bourbon. Tasting notes of bourbon, light coffee, dark chocolate. Medium body with a dry finish. Medium carbonation, semi-creamy mouthfeel.
