Bottle. Clear bright amber color, medium white head. Aroma of grass and herbs. Taste is malt forward with some bitterness at the finish. OK.

Draft: Poured a coppery red brown with off white head. Aroma was floral hops. Taste is light bitter hops that gave way to strong sweet malts that kind of over powered the hops.

On tap @ Black Bottle. Dark reddish orange appearance with a team head. Some floral notes in the nose with plenty of caramel and sugar. Flavor isn’t actually overly sweet. Hops are kind of dull and bitter. Toast and some citrus. Dull aftertaste. Kind of disappointing.

Pours a dark red/almost brown color and leaves the same color body with a one finger white foamy head that rises just a bit and then dies within a minute leaving some adequate foamy clingy lacing in its wake, body is somewhat clear around the edges but no carbonation is seen rising; the aroma is pretty hop forward mainly piney but as it warms, a nice light sense of caramel malts enter in but ever so delicately; the flavoring is bittersweet through the hops and malts combinely ever so nicely - mainly in a piney sort of fashion, mainly a sweet aftertaste, and a somewhat dry bitter finish; for the palate its about a light to medium sort of body with a somewhat sessionability sort of feel and could go pretty well with its respected food, carbonation seems fairly smooth for an American Red/Amber Ale, good for me; overall hey well, a nicely done hoppy Amerrican Red Ale with a darker body than most reds I’ve had, well done Alaskan, well worthy of having again and next time definitely would have with its respected food.
