For the second brew in our series with SNIK, we've teamed up with the lovely folk from Folkingebrew, who are based in Groningen in the Netherlands. What we came up with was this intensely hopped DIPA showcasing the NZ variety Peacherine.
A relatively new variety out of Freestyle Hops' breeding program, it really does live up to its name delivering juicy peach and nectarine flavours and a citrusy backbone. We reckoned it sounded perfect for a silky smooth DIPA!
We backed this up with another NZ variety, and the headline variety of the region, Nelson Sauvin along with incomparable Citra and an IPA super-blend from Yakima Chief, Cryopop. This combination brings a whole load of extra tropical fruit flavour with notes of passionfruit and white grape standing out from the mix.

Hazy yellow white head
Really really nice grapefruit forward aroma with no hazy hop burn solid sweetish malty base, but not flat, not caramelly, not nutty straight sweet malts.
Flavor is bitter mixed fruit peel, grapefruit, ripe fruit mix, it's like the hops just made an unbalanced ripe fruity flavor mess. Aro.a was way above expectations, flavor way below. Decent malty base to the beer. The bitterness is bitter alright but more override fruit peel bitter than awesome hop herbal bitter.

440ml can. Murky yellow with a small white head. Aroma of guava, mango, peach, herbal. Taste is sweet and juicy tropical fruits, peach, guava, mango, some light dank herbal notes, Nelson getting a bit lost in the mix. Medium bodied.
A brilliant DIPA, best I've had from NM in a long long time.

My Patron Saint Project Beer#12, today celebrating Saint George, the Patron Saint Of Knights through a Patrons Project brew. A little sticky-sweet, but not feeling its strength at all, this is a sweet tropical fruit brew with hints of pine, which are tasty too and come to the fore in both aroma and aftertaste.
