This focused sweet stout was aged in barrels for 38 months developing layers of flavor. After removing the beer from barrels we conditioned the blend on Toasted coconut flakes, roasted pistachios and roasted cocoa nibs.

Yay, Gillard beer is here. This is so Big Debbrah all over again. Love it. Panda, courtesy of S.H.I.G., pours with a deep dark used motor oil colored body that supports a thin mocha colored head of foam. A swirl of the beer leaves behind mead like legginess only dark brown fudge colored. The aroma offers up rich depth that's dark roasted malts, dark chocolate and a soft thin coconut sort of nuttiness in the middle. Oh boy, where to start with the flavor. There's rich slick velvety dark chocolate teaming up with a thin layer of coconut creating a dessert like sensation. Around those notes are pleasing and balancing burning boozy heat and the spirit that was in the barrel, bourbon maybe? Wow. What a rich sipping experience. I love it.

Shiggy with a winner.
Velvety, gloupy, oily, near black still pour leaves a brown stain in my glass.
This isn't leggy, it's etching my glassware.
Incredibly boozy, deep macerated date scent. Coconut oil, dates, melty fudge.
Taste is thick with bitter chocolate fudge & coconut. Black cake sweetness, raisin sharpness, whiskey, brown butter. The sweetness meets a very sturdy wall of herbal bitterness before washing everything away. Ever slightly medicinal.
Super thick & coating. Warming & tolerable abv, there's just so much of everything to dilute it.
Just waiting for the sugar crash.

Bottle: Poured a thick sluggy black with a brown lacing head that streaks oil down the glass. Aroma is boozy, bourbon, sweet, dark chocolate, nutty, coconut, pistachios, roasted malts. Taste is rich roasted malts, pistachio candy bar, dark chocolate, burns with some boozy alcohol, toasted coconut. This is delicious, I can almost feel my teeth rotting.

Roast, marshmallow, vanilla and lots of barrel. Coconut. Pours black without much head. Oily consistency. Bitter end with some hint of spice, pistachio. Coffee in there. Tap at Kettles and Grains.
