This classic Dry Irish Stout embodies its name with a lean body and rich roasted character. Notes of coffee and dark chocolate emerge from the midnight pour, while a crisp, dry finish keeps it dangerously sessionable. Built in the tradition of the great Irish stouts but brewed with our own sensibility that tastes just as good in a worn pub corner as it does at a celebration. A beer that reminds us the best pleasures in life don’t require a crown, just a glass and good company.

473 ml can. Pours a very dark brown with huge head. Aromas of creamy coffee and soft roasted malts. Thin flavors of earthy roasted malts. Definitely lean. Clean, but boring, even for the lowish ABV.

On tap at Threefold. Pours nearly black with a beige head. Nose is nice and toasty, good bready base. Flavour is simple, but has a good roasted malt character, bread crusts. Very good for the style.

On tap at Threefold, pours a deep dark brown / black with a medium beige head. Aroma brings out toasted malt, earthiness, and a touch of cocoa powder. Flavour is dry, with toasted malt, earthiness, and a touch of cocoa. Dry, toasty and smooth. Solid for what it is.

Dark brown, medium head. Thinnish body, a bit of cocoa, chocolate accents. Moderate bitterness. I like the malt complexity, but the body and rather weak finish don't appeal to me.
