Deep dark brown coloured body with a thinnish, relatively quick-dying tan head that only shows a centimetre tall off-white head on top. Aroma of bunches of very fresh strawberries, light malt, a touch of toffee and earth and a dose of toasted malt - very nice aroma, perhaps one of the best fruit beers i've smelt in a while - all strawberries! Light to Medium-bodied; Good balance of roasted malt, a touch of coffee and cacao/chocolate and a bigger dose of strawberries with a big hit of sugars and toasted malt at the same time. Aftertaste shows some chocolate and coffee notes with a grassy and earthy finish along with a dash of grain and bitterness at the tail end. Overall, a very nice and incredibly balanced fruit beer with a good and very fresh strawberry flavour and only a dash of the more pungent and noticeable caramelised and toasted malt. Nice to sample and definitely worth a try, especially if you can find it, otherwise it may be worthwhile to try to find this one, if you can, as it is very good, especially for the style. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Total Wine in Springfield, Virginia on 15-December-2017 for US$5,49 sampled at home in Washington on 07-January-2018.

22oz bottle pours a muddy black with some creamy, cream colored head. Nose has dried strawberry, chocolate, malt, toast. Flavor has mild strawberry and bubblegum, chocolate, toast, malt. Dry finish. Not bad.

Draft at the source. Deep maroon color. Aroma of coffee groudns and light fruit. Taste has more roasty coffee and berries. Interesting combination.

On draft at the Mad Fox Maibock festival 2014. Pours a clear dark cola brown with a beige head. Somewhat dank aroma. Flavors of roasted chestnuts with a hint of strawberry. Soft carbonation. Mellow finish.

Not necessarily great. Seems like an ok idea actually but that’s just because I don’t usually like Schwarzbiers. Pours dark brown with ok head and lacing. Some roast, some strawberry. On tap at DC Beer Festival.

Faint strawberry nose, sort of artificial, with toast. Fizzy mahogany, thick tan head, good retention and lacing. Medium body, easy carbonation, astringent. Little strawberry presence, much to my relief. Drinks more like a standard schwarzbier, toasted barley. Respectable and fun.

World of Beer, Arlington tap: Pours black with a beige head. Aroma is mostly lightly roasted malts, grain, and a hint of strawberry. The beer tastes like a schwarbier entirely up to the finish when a hint of the strawberry starts to manifest it as a sort of nice bonus at the end. All things considered, this was done pretty well.

Had this at the Summer NOVA BrewFest. Poured a dark brown color with a bit of translucency, with notes of strawberries, caramel notes. Flavor was actually light strawberries, a touch of chocolate, bitter notes. Pretty drinkable for such a hot summer day.
