Our Scottish style brown ale is deep brown in color - just take a smell of this beautiful beer and you will see why it is Scottish in style. Strong notes of roasted caramel malt & finishing with a touch of smoke. Very reminiscent of the best scotches. The taste will leave you wanting more!

Canned. Medium to moderate red brown pour. A bit of peat and smoke but pretty light bodied for a scotch.

On cask at Fireworks Arlington, pours a muddy brown with some spitty, white head. Nose of cold smoke, cheap malt, some brown paper, brown sugar. Flavor has a fake smoke thing, cheap BBQ sauce, a little under cooked/starchy potato. Oily finish.

Nice crisp deep brown coloured body with a thin, half a centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of toffee, clay, alcohol and bunches of nuts - not much else - fairly muted. Medium-bodied; Strong nutty flavour with some toasted malt, toffee and a little earthy flavour tucked in. Aftertaste is fairly one-dimensional with caramel and earth the primary players. Overall, a decent beer with a rather simple flavour and no real surprises throughout. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Whole Foods in Vienna, Virginia on 22-December-2013 for US$2.39 sampled at home in Washington on 27-March-2014. My can also lists the ABV at 5.7%.

Served on draft at the brewpub. Pours a dark reddish color with a thin frothy, creamy head. Good head retention. Aroma of toffee, smoke and earthy notes. The taste is toffee, earth, berries, smoke and a bitter hop finish. Medium bodied. Decent, but the smoke and hops are a little too assertive.
