DDH Meridian Pils
V spolupráci s pivovarom Frontaal sme sa podujali spískať piteľné, spodne kvasené pivo pre holandský trh. Keď prišlo na to, ako mu dodať na jedinečnosti, jasnou voľbou bola ručne vybraná šarža amerického chmelu Meridian.
Meridian je zaujímavý, často opomínaný chmeľ z dielne Indie, ktorého vôňu je povestne neľahké zachytiť v pive, ale my sme sa výziev nikdy nebalí. Uvarili sme ľahký, piteľný ležiak na jeden rmut s prídavkom sladovaného ovsa, o ktorý sa lepšie oprie vyššia dávka horkosti v podaní nášho obľúbeného uržateľne pestovaného Poloraného červeňáku. Do whirlpoolu sme nasypali Nelson Sauvin od PikNZell a – čo je najdôležitejšie – pridali dve studené chmelenia Meridianom.
Popis tejto odrody sľubuje veci ako ananás, mäta, citrón a sassafrass a Ms. Mary Dian na ležiak ponúka neúmerné množstvo sladkého ovocia a citrusov. Zdá sa, že s každým dúškom z piva vyliezajú ďalšie zaujímavé vône a nie sme si istí, či jeden pohár postačí na to, aby ste všetky objavili. Na zdravie

Canned 500ml. -Courtesy of Marko, shared with Hrabren. Yellow coloured, medium sized white head, perfumed lemony nose. Perfumed, floral, lemony and light grassy with dry bitterish finish.

0.5 l can shared with Ogi, clear golden, small off-white head. Thanks Marko for sharing. Aroma is moderately hoppy, perfumy at first, grapefruit later, hints of tropical fruit and bread. Light body, moderate to high carbonation. Moderate to high bitterness, herbal, piney, astringent. Dry. Flavour is grainy and grassy with a tropical touch. Finishes dry. Not too creamy.

Pale golden color with medium white head. Citrusy, pineapple, grapefruity, floral aroma. Taste starts bready malty followed with floral and fruit yhops. Dry finish. Easy drinakble.

Medium body, soft carbonation. tastes earthy, bready, herbal, tobacco, flowery, leathery. finishes light to medium bitter with notes of grassy, earthy and herbal notes. Very good one, very good to drink

From tap at Ammutson during Zwanze Day. Golden body, with a big, fluffy head.
Aroma of kiwi, tropical fruits, butter, herbs, grains. Tastes similar.
Medium mouthfeel, with a quite lively carbonation. Finishes dry, bitter, hoppy, grainy.
Very tasty, modern take on a Czech Pils. Has all the crisp Pils notes, with the typical buttery aroma, but also very well integrated tropical ftuit notes, really well balanced. The best modern Lager I've had in a while.

Tap at Prague Beer Fest 2026. Clear golden body, off-white head. Herbal hoppiness dominates, maybe vaguely oniony, not that fruity at first. Danky, oniony hoppy taste, somewhat minerally, vaguely astringent but nicely dry and bitter in the finish. Didn't get terribly much fruitiness at first, more at second try. Good one!

0,5l can from Firststep webshop. Head is big, white, average retention. Colour is pale gold, almost clear. Aroma is nice citrus, grapefruit, pineapple, mint, flower. Taste is medium malty base, citrus, grapefruit, mint, pineapple, tropical fruits, dry on the palate, long lasting bitterness, medium carbonation, very easy drinkable, I would not guest this is bottom fermeted.

Thinnish bod, med-hi carbo. Background malt, medium grassy, flowery hops character. Pretty simple feeling, but very easy drinking, clean, good.
