Ashtar je výsledkom dlhoročného premýšľania na tému “Akú IPA by som si vzal na opustený ostrov?”
Máme radi West Coast IPA, suché, číre a horké. Najlepšie s klasickým americkým chmeľovým základom v podobe živice, borovice a hromady citrusov. Tiež máme slabosť pre novozélandské chmely, ktorých tropický charakter plný ovocia sa k tej Amerike pekne hodí. No a zároveň by nemala byť príliš silná, nech sa dajú dať dve-tri po sebe. Niečo tesne nad 6 % ABV.
To je Asthar, naša prvá stála IPA, ktorú odteraz pre obe republiky a zvyšok vesmíru varíme v Thrillse.

Canned 500ml. -Courtesy of Marko, shared with Hrabren. Unclear yellow/pale golden coloured, medium sized off-white head, grainy and light fruity nose. Sweetish malty, grainy, bit candy, light fruity and grassy with sweetish finish.

0.5 l can thanks to Marko, shared with Ogi. Clear golden, small off-white head. Aroma is grainy, fruity, estery, apricot. A hint of pines and herbs. Light to medium body, light creaminess. Flavour is grainy, bready, grassy, herbal and resinous. Moderate bitterness. Some fruity sweetness underneath but finishes dry.

Tap/Can. clear golden color with medium white head. Clear citrus hoppy sroma, bready malt in background. Taste is hop centerd with medium malty backbone. Grapefruit, zest, light pines, orange light dank. Good.

Tap at Prague Beer Fest 2026. Clear golden body, white head. Heavy resinous aroma, bit minerally, some low creaminess, trace diacetyl? Smooth light taste, resin, light dank, more of that creaminess before the bitter finish... hooh... We couldn't pinpoint what it is at the fest, my theory was that there's enough diacetyl to leave a vague slickness, but not enough to leave a true buttery presence. Hope it's resolved in further batches!

Pale golden with a small white head. Medium body with very light carbonation, making the body feel a bit slick. Fresh bright pine hops, grass, grapefruit, sweet orange a hint of sweet malt. The lower carbonation makes this feel sweeter than it probably is and would make a better beer if there was a higher amount. Still, a tasty beer.

500ml Can - Golden in colour. Grapefruit, pine and some herbal and resinous notes in the aroma. Moderately bitter with notes of grapefruit and orange.

0,5l can from Firststep webshop. Head is medium, white, average retention. Colour is pale gold, light hazy. Aroma is citrus, pine, pineapple, nice hoppy. Taste is medium malty base, grapefruit, pine resin, pineapple, herbal hoppy, dry on the palate, soft carbonation, easy drinkable, good something like "All day IPA".

Poor bubbling. Thin body, dry, light carbo, could definitely use more. Med-high bitter, light fruity sweet. Hops-centered, with pleasant med grassy, grapey, flowery character. Easy drinking, but really needs more carbo to make it pop. GBNG.
