Sample at Aficionado’s during the "Big Bad Bottle Share" on 02/10/2017. The beer pours black with a medium thin khaki head that diminishes steadily to an outer ring. Partial rings of lace. Aroma of roast malt, whiskey and chocolate. Full-bodied with flavors of oaky whiskey, chocolate malt, coffee and vanilla. The finish is oaky with a whiskey and malt aftertaste. Good beer all around.

Bottle shared on the bus during RBWG 2014 - Asheville. Pours broadly clear, deep brown with a creamy, tan head. Good beer. Moderately sweet, with nice burnt marshmallow notes, dark chocolate, vanilla and charred wood. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Tasty on the finish, lightly warming, with lots more dark chocolate and burnt wood. Solid impy stout.

Bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Nose brings out lots of whiskey barrels, with some vanilla and cocoa. Flavour is complex, with notes of cocoa, vanilla and barrel notes. Cohesive and complex. Good stuff.

Bottle @ Luxury Tasting part II: "when Benzai was finally sober again", shared by Countbeer. Opaque pitch black color, medium sized brown head that lasts for a decent while. Aroma is malts, dark malts, whiskey quite strongly, earthy. Taste malts, lightly roasty, whiskey, lightly A hint of coffee, cocoa, moderately bitter. Medium body, smooth mouthfeel, medium yet soft carbonation. Nice one!
