Brewed with English pale and crystal malts, kettle hop additions of the American varietals Simcoe, Columbus, Centennial and Amarillo from the Pacific Northwest are blended, then added four separate times. Two dry hop additions of the same hops are added post fermentation to brighten the hop flavor and aroma. Sharp piney hop flavors jump out in the aroma, followed by silky caramel and citrus peel. Hop flavors reminiscent of rosemary, grapefruit peel meld with caramel malt backbone. Makes for a truly euphoric West Coast style hop experience, hence the name.

Northeast Bucket List Trip Beer #2. Keg at the brewery. Pours a clear copper with a medium sized creamy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of citrus, tropical fruits, orange zest, pale malt. The taste is citrus, candied citrus, lime zest, caramel malt. Medium bodied, mild lingering bitterness. San Diego, get it?

Deep hazy orange coloured body with a rich, two centimetre tall just off-white head. Amazing aroma of resinous, piney and super citrusey hops with more orange and citrus flavours coming out than i’ve ever noticed - even on a real beer from San Diego. Medium-bodied; Biting hoppiness with the citrus, resinous and herbal flavours all noticeable as well. Mild bready and yeast characteristics still show through and a bit of caramel malt still balances things out nicely. Aftertaste is focused around the hops, naturally, with a little sweetness of oranges and tropical fruits, some light earthiness and a mostly herbal and resinous finish - very nice and hoppy, of course! Overall, a nice west-coast inspired IPA that is executed well and the citrus notes are impossible to ignore! I sampled this from a growler purchased from the brewpub in Falls Church, Virginia on 03-February-2014 after a hockey game on 06-February-2014 - thanks JP!

64oz growler pours a clear dark orange with a ring of cloudy, white head. Nose is nice, pine, malt, orange, soap. Flavor is malty, orange, pithy, piney, honey, soap, malt. Bitter finish. They do their IPAs justice.
