Emerald Barrel Aged is Lough Gill’s 2 years old special release for St Patrick’s Day 2026.
When we brewed this batch 2 years ago we knew from tasting the initial beer and the aroma that we were getting from the barrels to be filled that this could have been something special.
After all this time, those feelings were right, the complexity of the malts blended in with the barrels and time made all the magic.
Expect a decadent, full flavoured and satisfying warmth from our Emerald Irish Imperial Export Stout.
Craft Brewed and Aged in our independent brewery in Sligo. Irish Whiskey Barrels from Boann Distillery in Drogheda.

Panda courtesy of Theydon_Bois, cheers Colin! Black colour with reddish tint, some shortlived bubbles on top and aroma of malt, roasted, whisky barrel, liquorice, dark chocolate, booze. Taste is roasted dark malty, peaty, whisky, oak barrel, chocolate, liquorice, with smokey salty bitterness. Oily mouthfeel, full bodied, low carbonation, woody boozy finish. Nicely drinkable

Can at home, from Craft Central.ie online, 29/08/2026.
Lighter shade of black topped with a khaki cap thins to the edge.
Nose is rich roast, dried red berry whisper, mellow barrel, molasses, chocolate shavings.
Taste comprises chocolate, molasses, brown sugar melt, light smoked tones, barrel, honeycomb.
Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced rising boost.
Solid complex sipper and goes down relatively easily for 14.4%!
