Reviewed from notes.
This was poured into a snifter.
The appearance was a nice hazy orange color with a moderate white quarter finger head. The head faded within about twenty seconds and left some light stringy lacing.
The smell started off with a ton of citrus with a nice light dosing of pine and tropical fruit.
The taste was basically the same but added a nice light sweet bready maltiness.
On the palate, this one sat just a tad above medium on the body with a more of a sipping quality to it. Once again, I didn’t really find this too sessionable, and that was probably due to the fact that this one was just too high in ABV.
Overall, for the most part this was a nice DIPA (er uhmmm...Triple IPA perhaps) as the alcohol isn’t noticed that much. I’d have this again.

Bottle at the BNA 8 party at World Cafe Live Philadelphia Lightly hazy with aromas of onion mint and alcohol. Light citrus and pine with onion garlic and licorice flavor. Decent DIPA but the flavors clash a bit.

12 ounce bottle. Honey gold color topped by a small bubbly white head. Fragrant piney hop aroma with noticeable alcohol. Sweet toasted malt flavor gives way to grapefruity hops. A touch of honey and citrus round this out. Lacks complexity or depth. Warming alcohol finish. Average at best.

12oz bottle. Filtered thin yellow-orange color, thin frothy white head. Minty lemon alcohol laced aroma. Big sugary grapefruit flavor, certainly has some alcohol ruggedness, but the filtration keeps it clean on the palate. Really easy drinking for the ABV, comes off more sharp and peppery, almost Saaz-like at times. Not bad, pretty tasty, but not really above par.

Bottle shared with Steve and co. Thanks Steve! Dark amber orange appearance with a tan head. Very potent grapefruity, piney hoppy aroma. Lots of rich hoppiness in the flavor- grapefruit, pine, citrus fruits. Pretty tasty.

Originally rated on 30.10.2011. 355ml bottle @ Oliver Twist, Stockholm

Pours reddish orange with a tiny bubbly head. Aroma has notes of exotic fruits, citrus, toffee and a lot of caramel malts. Taste is very sweet and malty with notes of exotic fruits and toffee caramel. Not very bitter or hoppy, just fruity. Alcohol comes through in the finish. Kinda unusual and unbalanced triple IPA. Perhaps a bit too old.

Sampled at the DC Ratebeer Gathering. Pours a transparent orange with two bubbles of white head. Nose is big, zesty hops, grapefruit, lemons, pine, soapy. Flavor is very sweet, almost under attenuated, oranges, lemons, pine, earthy, zesty, herbal. It’s a little sickly sweet. Full bodied, sticky finish.

Bottle from a trade with Steeeve. Pours dark golden orange color with off white head. Aromas of caramel malts and citrus hops. Sweet caramel malt flavor with some hop bitterness. Subdued hop flavor. Medium body with moderate carbonation and a syrupy mouthfeel. Thanks Steve.

(Bottle, Oliver Twist, Stockholm) Amber colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, hoppy nose with citrus, caramel, pine needles, alcohol, marzipan and loads of hops. Malty, fruity, hoppy taste with notes of caramel, treacle, citrus, resin, pine needles and a fairly bitter finish with a certain alcohol bite. Full body, rounded mouthfeel, fairly sweet. Very powerful and quite tasty. Very nice beer.
