This Saturday, we’re excited to welcome Mortalis and Tin Barn to the taproom. We are releasing two beers for the occasion and pouring guest drafts from our friends. To help mark the event, we mashed up elements of Barn Science and Queen Athena Dreamscape to bring you Barn Science Dreamscape.
A creamy base makes way for loads of Citra, Citra Lupomax, Krush, Eclipse, and Nectaron. An explosive mango and passionfruit nose leads into a saturated tropical medley of guava, nectarine, and papaya, layered with bright tangerine, grapefruit pith, and a pop of stone fruit. Each sip is plush and pillowy, with a soft, smooth bitterness and an escalating brightness from our EQ Juice finish creating a true dreamscape of flavor.

Can. Hazy orange gold beer, a pretty decent bubbly pale cream colour head. Smooth airy palate, good fine minerally carbonation on the back end. Smooth pale malts, a pretty forward creamy sweetness.. Soft cooling pine hops. Light bright citrus and stone fruits, juicy with a mild tang. A touch of hop spice. Crisp cooling pine finish shows a touch of tropical fruits. A good crisp bright dipa, just a tad sweet from the pale malts, dial that back a coupla notches, well for my taste, woulda smashed it out the park. Good stuff anyway.

Poured from an undated can into a tulip glass
Pours a pale opaque lemonade to dandelion yellow with a finger and a half of foamy white head that disapates to a light cover with a lasting ring. A little sticky lace stuck to the sides of the glass.
Aroma is a bit sweet and funky, punchy orange juice and passion fruit lead the way, grapefruit comes in with a touch of tart lime melding with general tropical notes.
The taste really matches the nose with a creamy lime character really shining through. Citrus pith picking up nicely on the back end
Light to medium light body with a fairly low carbonation, tropical sweetness meshes nicely with the pithy citrus bitterness and the creamy mouthfeel make a very easy drinking dipa.
Overall I appreciate the bitterness that balances the sweetness, I do find the last couple equilibrium DIPAs I've tried to be on the sweet, bordering sugary side but this one has a bit more dryness. It's enjoyable enough that I'd come back to it. Three great breweries, I'd like to see a Mortalis or Tin Barn version of a beer like this.
