While Gold Leaf is on the lighter side, it takes five weeks to perfect this traditional German-style lager. An homage to the days when beers were made 100% from malted barley, Gold Leaf is brewed with four European malts tempered with a touch of three imported hops. Plus, it’s got subtle bready notes. And since it’s not super hoppy or dark, this beer doesn’t hide any flavor inconsistencies. That just keeps us honest.
Malts: Pilsner, Weyermann Pilsner, Vienna, Acidulated Malt
Hops: Northern Brewer, Saaz, Tettnang

From can to glass at the Rosedon in Bermuda. After waking up at 4:30 am, being delayed for 3 hrs in MIA.... I arrived at this great hotel and they now carry a non-macro. Drinking one poolside at 1 am before heading to bed. Score may be inflated - but the crisp grain pairs well with 80 degree humidity after a loooooong day.

On tap at the brewery. Clear light golden. Smells, well, like lager. Taste is pleasant, light, and watery.

About a 6oz golden pour, with a small white foamy head. Aroma was light crisp malts, light lemon notes, sweet bready character. Light straw, lemon. Pretty refreshing.

Norm’s Beer and Wine, Vienna Virginia can: Pours golden with a white head. Aroma is pretty light: some bread and a bit of German hops. Taste is sweet with rather low bitterness. Not too carbonated. Easy going down for a drink. Kind of bland. Not bad.

4 oz draft pour served in a wine glass at B Side. Clear golden yellow with off-white head. Aromas of citrus, sweet malt, light corn. Tastes of citrus, malt, wheat. Medium body with a dry finish. Medium carbonation. Pretty good for what it is.

Pretty unremarkable lager in general. Only faintest sense of barley profile and not even that crisp of a finish. Tap at smoke and barrel.

Sample at Birch And Barley/Churchkey. Clear pale golden color with a medium white head that recedes steadily. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of fruit, biscuit malt and yeast. Light-bodied with flavors of fruit, grainy malt and slight floral hops. The finish is sweet with a fruity aftertaste. Slightly above average overall.

GABF 2013. Pours a fairly clear golden appearance with an off white head. Cracker, lightly grainy, herbal, a touch floral aroma. Light lemon, a touch husky, lightly floral, a bit earthy, slightly toasty flavor. Not hard to drink but a bit boring.
