A nod to the history of women in beer, this traditional style English Porter is full bodied and slightly sweet, using a simple, darker malt bill and the addition of wheat for head retention. We have added traditional English hop Ernest in the whirlpool to provide a light spiced apricot aroma and we have also used the same yeast as Afterhede, our sister beer, for a clean and paired fermentation profile.

Well executed, moderate strength porter. Nicely rounded chocolatey malts. Soft roast, low bitterness, some earthy accents. Nips of dark fruits. Highly drinkable.

Tap at 73 Enid Street. An opaque black brown coloured pour with a lasting khaki head. Aroma is nice, black liquorice, tar, pine sap, toasted brown bread. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, earthy clear dark roasted barley, liquorice, singed pine, resin. Palate is semi sweet, rounded, drying finish, moderate carbonation. Lovely porter with nice piney hops.

10/4/2026. Cask at the Isle of Man CAMRA 13th Beer & Cider Festival. Good pour. Aroma is sweet, roasted, malted, dark chocolate, stone fruits, nutty notes. Medium sweet, ashy dark fruits, drying roasted bitterness. Medium body, prickly carbonation. Prunes and apricot come through strongly to finish. Good complexity, liked it.

Pours black with a decent light tan head. Lots of cocoa, roast malt, hint of coffee, some caramel malt, a smidge of fudge brownie. Decent flavoursome porter. Like it!
