16oz pour at the brewery. Comes out a hazy dark brown with some creamy, eggshell head. Nose is solid, malt, earthy, a little wet soil, cracker, bread crust, mild chocolate, a little yeast. Flavor is even a little better, malty, sweet, bready, cracker, toast, light cheap coffee, mild dark chocolate. Creamy, dry finish. Solid.

Great initial aroma of pungent, robust malt and dark chocolate. Pours cloudy black with good head and lacing. Finish doesn’t completely follow through on intense initial promise, with light bitterness and a palate a touch too watery for style. Soft carbonation. Tap at brewpub.
