The beer is black and heavy. It has a smallish light brown head. The liquid shows off some nice viscosity on the walls of the glass. The aroma has deep, rich coffee flavors on top of a roasty, dark chocolate fudge base. Coffee beans, caramel, cocoa powder, light vanilla. Mild hit of booze. Some peppery spice in the mix. The taste has a wonderful balancing strength of coffee and roast bitterness to the caramel and chocolate sweetness. The coffee flavor is full with a touch of brightness and fruit. Big fudge base. Lingering roast and vanilla finish. Big, chewy mouthfeel. It’s not quite full on brownie batter, but it’s close. This is a wonderful coffee imperial stout.

Draft at Toronado SF. Pours deep brown-black with a creamy tan head. Massive espresso aroma, with secondary notes of roasted malts and cocoa. Big sweet flavor, offset nicely by the bittersweet espresso and baking cocoa, some earth, ash. Full bodied, chewy, with fine to average carbonation. Warming and ashy on the finish, with more bittersweet baking cocoa and lingering espresso. Solid.

Black color with a beige head. Powerful grassy and cocoa aroma. Full body. Balance between sweetness and bitterness. Heavy flavor. Espresso de lux, grassy and a bit dry. Tasty little devil. Dangerously well hidden alcohol.
