Bottle from Total Wine, Sterling VA. Dark brown, with a decent, beige, head. Sweet, milk chocolate and caramel, some roasted malts and a rather thin mouth feel. Finish was toasty. Fine overall.

Bottle. Pours black and thick, not much of a head.... but looks tasty. Aroma is slight smoke, chocolate, but it’s not very strong. Taste is smoked wood, chocolates, coffee. Yum

Some roast and a hint of dark chocolate. Pours Balbo with mocha head and pretty good lacing. Light sweet finish. Thick creamy consistency. Light caramelized malt aroma with hint of booze. Touch of acrid smoke. Pretty nice. Bottle from total wine.

Picked this one up in Virginia attending Matt’s wedding. +++ Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a black color with a large foamy tan head that lingered and left decent lacing. The aroma was malty and doughy with a hint of vanilla and cream. The flavor was malty cola, wood, a hint of vanilla and a bit of charcoal. Medium length cola and wood finish. Medium body. Meh.

12oz bottle pours an inky black with some garnet edges and some thin, off white head. Nose has a lot of malt, a lot of licorice, some coffee, some cola, a little cherry. Flavor is bready, malty, heavy licorice, a little pencil lead. Full bodied finish. Decent enough.
