Bottled. Black pour almost no head. Deep coffee aroma. Coffee, duh, roasted malt. Pretty good.

Draught @ Brass Tap - Fitzgerald. Opaque dark brown with large foamy tan head, faint mocha aroma, adequate carbonation, medium bitter mocha taste with alcohol undertones, somewhat thick body, long mocha finish with alcohol bite at the end. Nice but a bit too boozy.

Draft pour at The Taste of DC event in Washington DC. Poured a nearly pitch black color with a small brown head. Aroma was roasted coffee, roasty malts. Roasted notes. Bold, but tasty.

12oz bottle poured into a smaller La Trappe chalice. A very black color, definitely a lot of dark malts. Small brown head, despite being small its long lasting and strong. Aroma is chocolate covered espresso bean with a moderate bitter malt bite. Smells much better than I anticipated and I am generally not a fan of coffee beers. The aroma is a balance of moderate espresso and chocolate malt that helps offset the bitter malt. Unfortunately, the abundance of black malts adds a thinning acidity to the flavor. It makes it a lighter beer but its syrupy black malts, acidity, and bitterness with some light fumy sweetness. Filtered clean bottom of the bottle. I like the aroma and I am happy its not a big bad impy but just too much acidity and bitter black malts. It can definitely lighten up that load.

12 ounce bottle from Beer Run, 4/3/15. Dark brown with a large foamy tan head. Good retention. Aroma of chocolate, oats, coffee, nuts, piney hops. The taste is chocolate, coffee, dark fruits, oats, green, piney hops. Medium bodied, slick texture, low carbonation, mild lingering bitterness. Nice beer.
