Bottle 65 cl. Pours a clear black with a reddish/burgundy tint and a creamy, beige head. Very sweet vanilla note in the nose, overpowering most of the roast. Had the beer been sweet it would’ve been overwhelmingly cloying, but fortunately the base is super dry, roasty and almost a little thin in spite of the ABV. It has some egg nogg spicy edge to it, but it’s mostly the vanilla that comes through. 260816

Poured into a tulip glass from a bomber bought at Acme. Dark brown, opaque, medium bodied. Aroma has chocolate and nutmeg, taste mainly just chocolate. The finish is where "egg nog" spices kick in, not all that nicely.

22 oz bottle in a trade with reggiedunlop, thanks Kerry! Aroma really does smell like egg nog! Nutmeg, cinnamon and milk like hints. Interesting ...
Well, the flavor is indeed similar to an egg nog. The nutmeg and cinnamon are here without a doubt. But I will say I wish it had more chocolate and roast to go with the spice. Because honestly, it’s mostly spice. The body and carbonation is good so it is almost where it should be. Just want a little more stout with my egg nog.

good thick pour, not quite oily and does let in some light but it’s certainly a dark beer with reddish hues on the edges. No head. Smells great. cinnamon, brown sugar, coffee. Nice sweetness taste, thin body, it honestly has straight up egg nog taste. maybe a bit too herbal at the finish.

Sampled on draft at Champs in Altoona this beer poured a black color with a medium sized foamy brown head that faded and left a bit of lacing. The aroma was sweet and malty with sugar, icing and chocolate. The flavor was bitter, roasty, woody and smoky with notes of icing, black pepper, gingerbread and an almost metallic note. Long finish. Moderately full bodied and creamy. Disappointing.

Draft at the Tap Room. Poured a pitch black color with a small off-white head. Whoa. Smells of nutmeg and egg nog. Pretty darn close to the real thing, but with a lot more roasted malts and light dark chocolate notes. Lots of pleasant roasted malt notes in the flavor along side it. Very warming. Creamy. Thought I was going to hate this one because of the gimmick, but I thought it worked.

Do I hate egg nog? Do I drink egg nog... I’m Jewish. Either way, this is horribly aversive to my tastes. Is this what the gentiles drink for fun?

Draft at the source. Brown color. Aroma of nutty vanilla. Taste is vanilla and cocoa. Odd enough to see pumkin beers in August, but Christmas beers??

Bottle thanks to Brenton. Pours dark brown with tan head. Nose and taste of chai, cinnamon, coffee bean, toasted chocolate, toasted vanilla bean and gingersnaps. Spices are well integrated and balanced - better than most spiced stouts. Medium body.
