The Father-In-Law had this one sitting about so i decided to try it. +++ Sampled from a 12 oz can this beer poured a bright yellow color with an enormous creamy-soapy yellow-white head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was tangy, sweet, corny and had faint notes of citrus and Windex. The flavor was corny with a dryish bite and a hint of graininess though was very mild and watery. Short corny and grainy finish. Light and watery body. Bland and inoffensive.

"Had this with a bunch of friends following a funeral. It was the only beer around. Went well with our cigars. A - Zero appearance. Looks like dirty water. S - A more hoppy PBR but smells like nasty ice cubes T - Citrus, Floral and burnt notes M - Light, highly carbonated with cheap yeast O - This is a beer I’d take on a fishing trip. If I’m not fishing, this beer shouldn’t be in my hand."

Can. Pours yellow with a fizzy white head, which dissipates quickly. Malty aroma with corn and grain. Similar flavor, with sugary grain dominating. No bitterness to speak of, almost. Light bodied with fizzy carbonation. Finishes short, crisp and clean with some lingering sweetness. Drink this fella quickly and you’re fine. Good stuff.

Pale gold color, fizzy. Citrusy nose? Bready, with a seemingly citrusy finish. Malts are a touch too juicy to be properly refreshing here. Overall not bad.

12 ounce can from State Line Liquors. Pours a light golden color with a medium head and lots of visible carbonation. Poor head retention and lacing. Aroma is grain and a bit of corn and grassy hops. Taste is generic grain with a bit of corn. Thin and watery.

Tin. Flat watery lager with a bit of maize aroma. Beerlike flavour without being beer. This is what my brewer friends call a malt soup. It’s usually cheap, but you can find something better you can afford.

I rate this as I drink, not a memory. First let me say there is nothing like an ice cold can of Schaefer for $1 at the State Line in East Palestine. The State Line is one of those places that ratebeer would not allow you to enter. You pop the lid of this 12 oz can and you get a slightly sour aroma. First sip is a bit rude but that immediately fades to an acceptable ubiquitous beer flavor that is common in the US. The taste is very clean. I can remember when I drank Schaefer before it was bought by a BMC. It has about the same flavor so I assume they are still using the same recipe. While watching a few bikers and their women shoot pool I noticed this is a clean brew, not offensive in the presentation. Not bitter, a typical american beer with friendly gentleman behaviors and manners. It actually deserves more than an average overall rating considering all the happy Schaefers I’ve drank in the fast. I agree with JAF737300, it’s a good brew.
