From tap at Boscos, Memphis. Aroma is creamy dark malts with caramel toffee, roasted nuts, and light cocoa. Sweet with a little roasty bitterness. Body is medium. Pretty good Scottish Ale.

Solid Scotch ale, smoky peat on top of bourbon-tinged caramel-toffee malts. Finishes with a mild bitterness highlighted by smoke and grain. Nice.

Tap at Boscos Memphis. Deep opaque brown. Frothy beige head. Smooth malty aroma, pretty true to style. Does have a touch of vanilla as advertised. Medium bodied, sweet and malt centered with just a hint of balancing hops in the distance. A little lacking, comes off a little sugary and insipid. A hair below par for the style.

Location: Draft at Little Rock Brewpub, 8/23/11

Aroma: The nose is mostly caramel and roasted malts
Appearance: It pours a dark orange-brown color with no head or lace
Flavor: The taste is malt heavy, medium sweet with minimal bitterness
Palate: This offering is medium bodied with a decent mouthfeel
Overall Impression: Overall, I thought this was a solid offering. It was fairly true to style, but it wasn't particularly exciting beyond that.
