Despite the crudeness it is tricky to make an effective Molotov cocktail. Despite the unruly nature of the rebel it is very tricky to resist accepted conventions. Molotov Cocktail is a tour de force in rebellious hoppiness, it’s a spark for action and by far one of the most anti-authoritative beers ever made by Evil Twin Brewing.

Bottle from Dranken Geers, Oostakker, Nr Gent, Belgie, consumed at Pickets Lock campsite, Saturday 4th April 2015 Far too boozy, sweet, cloying and heavy. Pours like a beery snowstorm with quite a lot of sediment in suspension. Hoppy, syrupy, boozy, sweet beer. Not my thing at all, not a fan at all. A6 A3 T5 P3 Ov11 2.8

Tasting at Matt’s
Hazy orangey color with small head; with floaties. Strong fruity hoppy aroma; the strawberry note comes as a surprises (maybe wild strawberries too), and increases the note. Strong but lean body; you will be hit by the high sweetness level, yet it’s not thick or syrupy; nice pale malt flavor that supports a huge and fresh hopping, fruity, some peaches and strawberries, and some animal character. Excellent alcohol management, you won’t feel it, and it will hit you later.
Astonishing; completely out of balance, but lovely.

Bottle - Very sweet syrupy mango. Lots of floaties in orange and gold. Sweet, mango, fruity, very sticky sweet, Mandarin and some boozy notes. Dangerously easy drinking and not bad.

22 oz. bottle, pours a clear golden / copper with a small white head. Aroma is sugary and boozy, with candied sugar, booze and resinous hops. Flavour is intensely sweet and boozy, with cloyingly sweet candied sugar, phenols / alcohol, and resinous hops. Super sweet, but somehow not syrupy. Not refined or elegant, but it's not too bad in small amounts. With some tweeking this could be great. But as is, it's only good.

The Sampler, Brooklyn bottle: Pours amber with an off-white head. Aroma is grapefruit and more tropical fruit, with a hint of the booze. Beer is fruity and juicy. Alcohol is well covered, but you can feel this beer’s power even with the covering. This beer is not to be trifled with. Hop character is good.

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 11/25/2014. Pours slightly hazy/cloudy bright orange color with a 1-2 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of huge pineapple, peach, mango, tangerine, grapefruit, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, floral, grass, candi sugar, light caramel, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good complexity and balance of bright citrus/tropical hops and moderate malt sweetness; with great strength. Taste of big pineapple, peach, mango, tangerine, grapefruit, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, floral, grass, candi sugar, light caramel, and floral/grassy earthiness. A good amount of pine/citrus rind bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of pineapple, peach, mango, tangerine, grapefruit, lemon/orange zest, pine, candi sugar, light caramel, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice complexity and balance of bright citrus/tropical hops and moderate malt sweetness; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a smooth and fairly slick/sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a light warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent DIPA style. All around great complexity and balance of bright citrus/tropical hops and moderate malt sweetness; and very smooth to sip on for the big ABV. A very enjoyable offering.

22oz bomber. Unfiltered looking glowing orange-tan body. Foamy, respectable head. Ouch. This is an all out sugar bomb. As Anndiesel noted, this tastes like they added splenda packs to it. Resiny sugar bomb. Quality. Kind of like an artificial version of that Founders Triple IPA. This is really not an impressive. You want to hate it, but it grows on you. Employs tactics that lesser breweries would utilize, but has enough quality ingredients to sneak through. I haven’t done a side by side comparison, but I’m getting no simcoe traits here. Sugar bomb IIPA.
