Morat is the Welsh name for a melomel made from honey and mulberry - a beautifully flavored fruit that seldom comes to market due to its difficult harvest. Our Morat is a great treat, balancing the elegant fruit flavor with the broad notes of West Virginia honey.

Sample, thanks to Kolshtrinker. Many thanks! Drunk on New Years Eve with Red Dead Redemption in the background. Pours a deep reddish amber, strong aroma of rich honey, light berry hints. Expected a fuller palate, but seems a little thin bodied, rich honey, strong boozy alcohol edge, some warming fruits with a rough vodka-like alcohol finish. Not really feelin this.

Danke an Erzengel. Trockener Beginn mit mildem, fast enttäuschend flachem Hintergrund. Wenig bis kein Honig, etwas bitter, trocken, schwacher NAchhall mit etwas Pfefferminz. 9/4/5/4/8/4

Many thanks to Weihenweizen for this bottle. Strange fruity nose. The mead starts very dry, lots of sour fruit there with honey only in the back. Fruity berry sourness over a rich but neutral body. A bit sad but still interesting.

Bottle shared with Erzengel. A clear amber colour. Aroma of sweet honey, riped fruits and apples. Taste of overriped apples, honey, boozy fruits, meh...

Bottle: Pours still, smoky amber, no head. Aroma is mulberry, honey... Taste is very dry....mulberry and honey. Slightly peppery towards the finish....with a stronger, leafy scent. Very nice.

Bottle sample at the source courtesy of Tom, thank you! This one is light reddish amber in color. The berries are very subtle, taste is slightly tart, nicely balanced with floral fruit.
