Fomo is a tasting beer, organic and gluten-free, brewed to suit people with coeliac disease. It also meets a growing demand from consumers who are mindful of their well-being and keen to limit their gluten intake, without compromising on a beer with character.

Its name refers to ‘Fear Of Missing Out’, the fear of missing out on something. A deliberate nod to a segment that is still under-represented in the world of craft beers.

This blonde beer has a dry, balanced profile, carried by a pleasant fruitiness. Cereal notes come through fully, alongside the typical characteristics of Dupont beers, linked to the yeast and brewing techniques.
The bitterness, derived from Hallertau Mittelfrüh and Spalter Select hops, contributes to the freshness of Fomo.

Bottle from Good Spirits Glasgow. It pours slightly hazy golden - orange with a lasting fluffy white head. The aroma soft, mellow sweetness, freshly baked bread, biscuit, toasty grains, grain husks, some warming spice, clove, ginger, touch of honeysuckle melon and green banana. The taste is crisp, dry, snappy, some minerality, toasty grains, bread, biscuit, cracker, cereal, spice, grassy, floral vibes, muted booze in the backdrop and bitter citrus peel with a drying, toasty spice finish. Medium body and moderate, fluffy carbonation. Decent, but not as refined as the standard saison Dupont.

I’m a big fan of DuPont but I have to say this is a step below their usual offerings. Doesn’t quite sing. A little boozy note, some crunchy grains and biscuits, grassy bitterness, husky straw, mellow flaked wheat. Drinks fine, it’s just not world-class.
