Pours slightly brownish black with a small tan head. Aroma is simple bourbon(!), cola, coffee and citrus/herbal hops. The taste is boozy with bourbon flavors and fairly harsh with sharp coffee/roast and hop bitterness. Mouthfeel is watery and thin. This beer just couldn’t handle the barrel, in my opinion.

Tap at the Rubicon. Pours very brown/black with a creamy tan head. Bourbon/vanilla aromas. Lots of flavor. Touch of treacle, chocolate, touch of coffee, lots of bourbon, touch of oak. Always seems to finish with a little mocha. Rave. Rave. Rave. Great drinking ale. Incredibly tasty for 6%!

Tap at Rattle n Hum. Pours dark, almost black, with brown highlights and a beige head. Nose holds some booze, some coffee. Tons of vanilla in the flavor, which is how the bourbon strikes my palate. Some roasty malt notes, too. Medium in body, very smooth, some warmth. Good beer.

Draft. Blackish beer with a tan head. Nice bourbon, malt, and light chocolate aroma. Bourbon and light malt flavor with light caramel and light chocolate. Medium bodied. Bourbon and malt lingers. Flavor doesn’t linger long, but it’s nice.

Draught Deep brown beer with a reddish shine, little head. Obvious vanilla, oak and Bourbon, some roasted notes and again, lots of oats. Warming MF for obvious alcohol (Bourbon), sweet nutty dark worts and just enough discreet hops - great balance! Warming, but not aggressive in MF. Very good B.B.A. porter, much more balanced than most of its ilk.

Draft at the Bistro’s First Barrel-aged Beer Fest; Oak aged for 9 weeks; Nose of coffee and chocolate; clear brown, small beige head; flavor of coffee, oak, and caramel malt in a kind of thin body.I had put this under the regular but moved since I saw it was added!
