Bottle shared by Brian, thanks! Pours a clear orange with an amber hue with a gold hue and a near white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has sweet grains and bread with a slight wine dryness supporting. Flavor has sweet grains and caramel with a touch of light fruit and some dry red wine notes in the finish.

rbwg2015. Big thanks to my buddy burg326 for sharing this, cheers Adam! 22oz bomber pours with a near clear amber body that supports a light tan head. The aroma offers up molasses, brown sugar, smooth sweet malts and then thin dark fruity ester like note in the background. The taste is smooth and pretty rich with nectar sweet malts, brown sugar, molasses and mild sweet dark fruity esters. I’m loving this as it is pretty smooth and the rich sweetened and aged fruity esters are just blended and weaved into the malty sweetness oh so well.

4oz pour at Churchkey DC pours a clear, brick red with a ring of white head. Nose has an interesting mix of honey comb, wood shavings, vinous notes, mild candy, mild spice, red pepper jelly, orange peel, soap. Flavor has some sweetness, oak, vanillin, wood shavings, white grapes, mild booze, more red pepper jelly. Sweet finish, a bit tannic too.

Draft at Churchkey during DC Craft Beer Week. Poured a clear amber color with a medium sized white head. Aroma was some caramel and malt, boozy, like a standard barley wine. Some barrel notes, vanilla, though I’m not getting a whole lot of Cabernet here.

Wine has big presence without dominating. Pours amber with ok head and lacing. Some caramel and malt, but beer hides beneath the barrel. Sweet finish with light sourness. Tap at Churchkey thanks to radagast83.
