A lightly hazed amber barleywine with a thin lacing off white head. In aroma, nice caramel malt with light vinous character and mineral notes, pleasant and smooth. In mouth, a nice caramel malt with light vinous character, alcohol warmth, light mineral notes, very nice. On tap at brewery.

Location: Draft at the Brewpub, 1/23/14, as King William Barley Wine
Aroma: The aroma has some light hops, fruit, caramel malts, and some booze
Appearance: It pours a clear orange color with a small white head and light lace
Flavor: The flavor is much the same, a little sweet, mild bitterness, plenty of booze
Palate: The body is medium, maybe a touch light, odd on the mouth, and kind of boozy
Overall Impression: Overall, I thought this was a pretty solid one. It is a touch on the boozy side, but it doesn't feel overwhelmed by the ABV. Interesting stuff.

Draft, at the brewpub. Orange amber pour, with almost no head. Aroma is barley and a bit of bright pine hops. Taste is nice, big semi sweet maltiness with a good hop presence to provide a nice, bright, bitter finish. Hides the 12% (stated ABV by bartender) alcohol really well. Bartender Ron mentioned this had been aged 12 months. The age shows nicely in this one. A very nice, solid, Barley Wine.
