This light bodied blonde ale is perfectly balanced with a touch of Crystal hops for bittering and aromatics. Fireman’s #4 is a great choice on any hot Texas summer day or pair it with spicy foods to help you put out the fire.

12oz bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a clear gold with about a finger of white head. Aroma of light citrus hops and a little grain. Taste is light bitter. Citrus hops and bready malt. Medium bodied with a thick texture. Lively carbonation and a long finish. Overall, very good. I’d gladly drink this outside on a hot day.

Location: Draft at some random bar/restaurant in Austin, 2/17/12
Aroma: Light nose with some pale malts, spice, light hops
Appearance: The pour is a clear and pale yellow color
Flavor: It has a spice and malt flavor, mid sweet, light bitter
Palate: This one is light bodied, somewhat dullish, long duration, and a tingle on mouth
Overall Impression: I wasn't particularly impressed. This seems to be the local version of the boring "micro" we throw on the menu so people have something to order that isn't a Bud or Corona, but also isn't really any more interesting then a Bud or Corona.

Bottle thanks to Cavie! Poured a clear pale gold with a white head that dissipated to the edges. Aroma was quite simple with some grass and hay notes. Flavor was similar with some grass, hay and perhaps corn. Seemed quite plain to me.

Slightly funky cheese aroma, weak. Milky yellow, thin head. Malty, but simple. Fairly mediochre.

Pours a very light yellow with a medium white head. Aroma is light corn, skunk, peppery hops. Nice refreshing grass and hay notes that end with a Sazz finish that is dry and peppery. Great lawnmower beer.

Sample at the Texas Beer & Brats tasting 10/11/2009 (as both Alamo Golden and Firemans #4). The beer is a slightly hazy golden color with a thin white head that burns away quickly. Grainy malt in the nose as well as light grassy hops. Light body with mild hops and malt flavors (and some sweet fruit in the case of Alamo). The finish is clean and malty with notes of corn (and tropical fruit again with Alamo). Barely average in both cases.

Another beer from ericandersnavy. Pours gold with a foamy white heat. Light fruit aromas. Could be some grass. Medium minus body with sharpish carbonation. Not a huge amount of fruit or malt. But it’s hot this evening, and it’s going down real well. Finishes lightly fruity and barely bitter. Good blond ale.

Bottled. A golden beer with chuncks of yeast floating around under a fluffy off-white head. The aroma is sweet and spicy - lots like a saison. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of citrus, leading to a dry fruity and spicy finish.
