A rich golden coloured ale, with Simcoe and Amarillo blending to give aromas of nectarine and stone fruits, whilst the combination of Calypso and Amarillo in the early stages gives flavours of candied fruits and a long-ish bitter finish. Brewed to celebrate our 2000th Gyle.

Bottle. Barrel and Anvil. Been ages since a Mallinsons beer. Pale gold with a light haze. Slim messy sticky white foam. Nose has lemon hand soap. Not a deal else really. Taste is a little dry and moderately bitter. Light bitter finish. Now I remember why itโ€™s been so long since I had a Mallinsons beer. Shite.

Mallinsons 2000th brew, which means I'm bugged to realise I've had less than 10% of these. It's a pretty good one for the celebration too, especially as it's hard to make golden style ales good or bad - they're all quite close for me in design. It is in its crispness with a favourable dryness in flavour in this instance, with light tropical notes.
