Cheri Tart is an easier drinking sour ale, with a light but noticeable sour cherry aroma and flavor. This is one of few CIB beers we recommend drinking extra cold. The original version of this beer was a lambic made with cherries picked by us off a neighbor’s trees, due to short supply the beer was changed to a Sour Ale and contains no cherries. A great summer time beer due to it’s refreshing tartness. Available in bottles and Draught.

Bottle during RBWG. Pours a cloudy red copper with small off white head. The aroma is hairspray and plastic. Medium mouth with light tart cherry and plastic. Best cib beer on the trip.

Bottle forced upon us but Prufrock, or I should say, bottle nicely gotten for me to tick by Chris. Just like expected, its poorly made high octane autolysis with cherry hints on the nose. The flavor is less autolysis and actually some decent sourness and a slightly fresh cherry finish. If the beer was all like the very end of the flavor that would be da bomb. Thanks again Chris.

Bottle pour split at a tasting event. Pours a dark ruby red with a thin patchy head. Bit of a dark fruit aroma. Decently sour right away. Overly sweet cherry flavor with an almost sweet wine like finish. Not what I expected, but definitely doesn’t deserve the hate it is getting. Decent sour beer.

RBWG14 Trip Rating #102. Bottle courtesy of the Nielsens at the Grand Tasting. Pours a hazy red color with a large foamy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of cherry, citrus, earth, caramel, raisin. Lightly tart and a little dirty. The taste is tart citrus, raisin, caramel, spice, mild tartness. Medium bodied.

Bottle shared on the RBWG bus - whoever brought this deserves to drink a full 750ml of CIB by his (or her!) self. Pours cloudy, golden-brown with a filmy head. Big acetic nose, plenty of plastic and leaves. Medium sweet flavor, certainly tart, with more plastic and leafy bitterness, along with astringent alcohol and berries. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Tart finish, mildly warming, with lingering plastic. Terrible, but still maybe the best of the CIB bunch.

Clear amber with a small off-white head. Sour cherries, cough syrup and light metallic. Best of the ones on the bus, that’s not saying it’s good.

Bottle, "thanks" to Pepdiedcan. Pours hazy caramel amber with a small tan head that leaves some lacing. Aroma is tart, a bit of funk, cherry, windex. Flavor is about the same, medium sweet, lightly astringent with a zesty bitter, lightly metallic and light saccharine aftertaste. Light-medium body. Hmmmm.
