It is no secret that one of our desert island beers is Schlenkerlas Helles Lagerbier Special Edition Unfiltered. We knew we at some point had to try our spin on that beer, and therefore we decided to brew a Rauchbier, specficially to be able to re-use the yeast for a Helles Lager, just like the way Schlenkerla does. The base for this Helles is super simple. Its brewed with some of our favorite German malts, and hopped & bittered a bit more generous than a normal Helles, just like Schlenkerlas iconic beer. It has a nice crisp maltiness, freshly baked bread, grassy, herbal & citric hoppiness and soft smokey finish from the Rauchbier yeast. We're super excited about finally making this beer, and look forward to share it with you all!

Draught @ MBCC 2026, Copenhagen. Pours Cloudy Yellow Golden with a White head. Wood, campfire, fresh grains. Smooth and mellow. Lovely. 4.0

TCBW2026. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is herbal, some mild earthy and toasted tones. Flavour is floral, some grassy and herbal tones with mild citrus as well as some bready and mild sweet grainy tones. Nicely Helles, though a bit on the crispier side (which I don't mind).

Draught @ Mig & Ølsnedkeren. Pours clear golden with a white head, lacings. Aroma of malt, bread, grass, mild smoke. Flavor is light bitter, malt, bready, grassy hops, light smoke. Medium body, average carbonation, dry, bitter and light but lindering smoky finish. Smooth and more-ish. 140526
