This is our delicious version of an American Black IPA/Cascadian Dark Ale. It is dark like a porter but, not as heavy! A nice thick, tan head that holds up nicely. This beer provides the perfect level of roastiness that gives way to a very complimentary herbal citrus hoppiness and balanced with the perfect amount of bitterness. Tastes crisp and smooth, easy to knock back a few at a time!

Very dark brown coloured body wth a nice four centimetre tall tan head and a quite opaque brown glow, about 75% opaque. Aroma of roasted malt, light earth, nuts, cream, vanilla, dry grain and a faint note of cherries and other fruits. Medium-bodied; Assertive dry roasted malt flavours with a hit of alcohol, some nuts and coffee flavours and a touch of grain on the finish, but also some hop flavours on the more subdued side and a hint of cream on the tail end. Aftertaste is relatively simple with the nuts and earth hitting the hardest and a little bit of hop bitterness perceivable from the palate. Overall, a decent Black IPA that looks better than it turns out being; not a bad beer, but not great or really worth searching out. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Wine Cheese & More in Chincoteague, Virginia on 28-May-2017 for US$1,89 sampled at home in Washington on 25-June-2017.

12oz bottle pours a murky black with some very frothy, sudsy, lacing white head. Nose has a lot of bread crust, some toast, malt, earthy dirt, some hand some, some perfume, not a whole ton of citrus. A bit of tangerine in the flavor, some juice, some pine, but mostly hand soap, then some bread crust, a little dirt. Soapy finish. Flavor is decent, just not sure what to make of everything.
