Juicy, exciting fruit flavours before an intense bitterness as sharp as a Macaw’s screech.
Hopped with: Summit and Amarillo.

Bottle from Ales By Mail. Pours clear golden with airy but stable off-white head. Clear aroma of fruit and hops, with touches of yeast. Bitter, hoppy flavour, with fruity and malty notes. Lingering, bitter afteraste. A little decarb, possibly because it is several months aftert the BBD. Still, quite okay.

Bottle at home from B&M Watford. Clear golden colour with a loose off white head. Slight haze. Aroma is composed of mellow citrus fruits, peach, light caramel malt sweetness. English yeast esters and berry on the nose as well. Flavour is initially straw and slightly caramel malt sweet and then sharp citrus grapefruit and lemon rind. Finish has an assertive rough straw and grapefruit bitterness. Medium palate, mid sweet and crisp in the finish, medium carbonation. Really bit hop hit in this beer. Very refreshing and perfect for this fine summer’s eve.

On cask @ the Stockbridge Tap. Appearance - golden with a slight haze and nicely proportioned head. Nose - fresh sweat and citrus. Some hay in the background. Taste - more sweatiness and grapefruit and pith on the finish. Palate - light to medium bodied with a tangy texture that turns into a long dry finish. Overall - if you’re happy with the sweat thing, which I don’t mind personally, this is very refreshing.

500ml bottle from B&M Bargains - Clear amber body with lively carbonation. Fairly muted nose but there is an aroma of hops, citrus and a slightly tropical note, and that gooseberry you are promised comes in. On the palate it is medium bodied, has a hoppy pine bitterness, and a tropical fruit flavour, with peaches and vanilla on the finish.

Bottle, 0.50l. Clear deep golden color with large rocky off-white head, great lacing and average sparkling appearance. Aroma of fruity hops, peach, berries and mild malt. Taste starts with light sweet toasted malt and biscuit notes, fresh fruity following, tart mouthfeel and heavy bitter finish with pleasant long aftertaste. Full body, slick texture and soft carbonation in palate. Wow, that was really pungent birdie...

Cask @ Engineers Arms, Henlow. Amber, almost copper. Little head. Slightly muted aroma: grape, grass and malt. Sharp bitterness throughout. A hint of fruity sweetness is present but overpowered. Not the most exciting in Oakham’s stable. Good enough but I wouldn’t go out of my way to have it again.
